I Heart Faces

 

 

This week at I Heart Faces the entry is a photo of our favorite face photo. Amy and Angie will be selecting some faces to be published in an I Heart Faces Blurb book. I love this photo of Legend! I took it last summer when we stayed at the Big Creek Baldy watchtower. He'd been playing with the slingshot and sat down on a rock just as the sun was starting to set. You may notice the evidence of campfire S'mores on his face :)

 

I am submitting this photo into the www.iheartfaces.com Blurb book photo contest. If chosen, I grant I ♥ Faces permission to use my photo in a printed version of a book for commercial use and possibly advertising of a photo book on both the Blurb and I ♥ Faces web sites.

I have two entries for this week...one for kids, one for adults. The theme..."Laughter"!

I took this picture of Legend at Baby Beach in Dana Point, California. We were playing on the beach and he was having the best time with the sand toys and games and eating hot dogs (evidenced by the catsup smeared on his face!).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I took this one of John playing with Legend in the front yard on the last afternoon they were at our home in Washington before moving to Utah. It was a sad day for us cause they were leaving the next morning, but they still had loads of fun laughing and playing together.

I Heart Faces (Adults)

I've got an adult entry for this week's theme, "Hats"! I took this photo in January on Denarou Island in Fiji. Hats don't get much better than this!

This week it's all about faces and hats! Here's one I took of our little pirate last summer on the beach. Legend loves to role play and pirates are one of his favorite themes!

I Heart Faces

 

This was a challenging theme for the week, Self Portrait. The photo must be taken by you and you must be holding the camera, no tripods or anything else holding the camera. Short arms were not made for this :) I tried some outdoor shots which didn't work real well given the shortage of attractive backgrounds (didn't have time to go find a garden somewhere). I moved inside and took some using natural light coming through a couple of different windows. That worked pretty well and added some catchlights! This is pretty much how I look everyday. Those of you that know me can see that my hair is shorter than I use to wear it. I've found the greatest hair stylist here that I have ever had. Love her! I'm trying to figure out how to get her to come back to Montana with us next spring!

Here's my entry for I Heart Faces where the theme this week is "Spring". I took this puddle jumping photo at the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival when we took Legend. Another week! Another face! This week's theme...pouting. I don't have many pouting shots as we don't seem to have a lot of pouting going on with the grandsons. But this one...I love this one! Here's Zachary tired and unhappy at Cafe Jax. The shirt says it all!

Another week, another photo...this week's theme is "No Flash". I took this photo of Legend inside our Worldmark condo in St. George (he loves it when we stay there :). He was sitting across the counter waiting for breakfast and I leaned over and snapped this picture. Love that hat...and that dimple!

This weeks theme at I Heart Faces is Creative Cropping. Here's my entry in the Kids category. We were in St. George and took Legend for our usual morning treat at Starbucks. He climbed up behind Papa and was teasing and laughing with John. They were having so much fun and I wanted to get some pictures. It was difficult to snatch a photo cause Legend was moving around a lot. This is one that I cropped to get the final photograph.

Winning Photo!

Hurray! My photo in the adult category at I Heart Faces took 7th place this week! I'm so thrilled to have made it into the top ten! Check the March 2nd post if you haven't seen the photo...thanks to Paul for allowing me to use his face :)

I Heart Faces (Kids and Adults)

This week's theme is "Messy" and I knew immediately which photo I would post. Here's Zachary on his first birthday! He dove right in with no encouragement from anyone and really enjoyed that cake!

 

I didn't think I had this photo on my laptop and all the CDs and negatives are at home in Montana. But...I found it deep in the recesses of my hard drive!! This is Paul after a hard day's work...taken the day we made the big concrete pour on our foundation. You can tell he really enjoys what he does!

I Heart Faces (Kids and Adult entries)

It's time again for another entry! This week's theme is Black & White. In the Kids category here's a photo I took of Legend at soccer camp. It was during the rest break and he was relaxing in the stands and "hydrating" as Papa John taught him to do :)

   

And here's my entry in the Adult category. I took this photo of my sister sitting in a restaurant across the table from me. The lighting was very dim and I set my camera to spot metering to darken the background. It's my favorite photo of her!

Time for another I Heart Faces photo! The theme this week is "Wonder". This is a photo I took of Legend when he was about 2 1/2. We were playing in the backyard just before sunset when he put his fingers to his cheeks when he spotted something up in the trees. It's one of my favorites!
