Here's what's been going on the last couple of days. The lap siding is all up! I need to put a coat of paint on the back wall of my studio and the tall wall of the garage. John and Paul are finishing up the shingles on the dormers and gables and John will be finishing putting a coat of primer on them. There'll be a little more touch-up work on the trim and that's it for the winter. We'll have to put another coat on and paint the shingles in the spring (something to look forward to all winter :(...We also need to get a coat of sealer on the deck and front porch, but we can do that when the temperatures are colder.
The garage doors were installed yesterday. The clay color looks a little different than originally planned as we'd had to make that change with the shade of green, but we still are happy with it. We didn't care for the other color choices and we sure didn't want to have to paint our garage doors! One little problem...check out the photo :) They also brought the wrong motor for the openers (John ordered some special fancy one), so they have to come back for that anyway.
Matt and his wife, Jamie, started installing the wood floors today. Paul assures me that I can drop paint on them and it's not a problem. Everything will be sanded out before the finish goes on anyway (whew!). They expect to be done with this phase by the end of the week.
And here you can see the start of our Ambitious Amber walls. We've got one coat on the kitchen, dining room, and one wall of the living room. We decided to take the amber color up onto the vaulted ceiling in the dining room and I think it was the right choice. I love it! The rest of the ceilings in all of the downstairs will be Eggwhite (which you can see in the second photo.) For those of you that remember our in-your-face-yellow walls in Bonney Lake...this is about the same depth of color, but with a much golder tone. Love it!
